Kameswaran Chess Academy (KCA), founded by Sri. V. Kameswaran in 1993, is a renowned institution that offers chess training to players at all levels, from freshers to grandmasters. Having developed professional players and champions, the Academy continues to inspire young generations.
V Kameswaran, India’s first ever International chess arbiter, FIDE (World Chess Federation) Lifetime achievement awardee has coached and mentored thousands of children including 5-time World Champion Viswanathan Anand.
Visweswaran Kameswaran, FIDE Trainer, former coach of the Indian Olympiad team, has the record of training the first ever Indian U-16 team which won the gold medal at the World Youth Chess Olympiad (Singapore). He has also trained gold medal Indian winning teams, dozens of grandmasters, women grandmasters, international masters, women international masters, and medal winners at the national and international championships and tournaments. He has developed various systematic training programs as a coaching coordinator at the All India Chess Federation during his tenure. He is a founder of Grassroots Chess Promotions. With a background in engineering and technology, he has pioneered the conduct of various online events. Received the Tamilnadu State Government award from the Chief Minister for coaching high achievers. Apart from this, he conceptualised and implemented the first comprehensive Indian chess portal “Chathurangam”.
K V Shantharam is a FIDE Trainer and an experienced player at the national championships. Former Tamil Nadu State Chess Champion and coach of the Indian senior teams in Asian Championships. He has developed several national and international youth medal winners, and titled players including Srinath Narayanan, R.R Laxman among many others. Interestingly, he was also a national level swimmer.
Harish Kumar, National arbiter and FIDE rated player and coach with over a decade of experience in teaching chess to children worldwide.
